Confronting the Impact of Governmental Policy & Legislation on the Mental Health of People in Rural America
The mission of Rural Minds is to serve as the informed voice for mental health in rural America and to distribute information and resources.
Rural Minds is the only national 501c3 nonprofit focused on advocating for rural mental health equity, promoting mental wellness, and providing information and resources to confront rural mental health challenges and the stigma that surrounds mental illness. We serve the 46 million people living in farming, ranching, and agriculture communities, small towns, and isolated areas in the country across rural America.
In addition to providing programs and resources that directly assist people in rural communities who are struggling with a mental health challenge, we are also addressing how mental health is affected by the anxiety and stress many people are experiencing due to the unsettling changes that are taking place under the current administration.
The goal of this webpage is to provide objective facts about current or potential initiatives that elevate anxiety and stress for people living in rural America, which can worsen – or lead to the development of – a mental health condition.
