New Program Targets Mental Health Crisis Among Rural Youth

Rural Minds Founder and Chairman Jeff Winton joined RFD-TV's Market Day Report to discuss the Rural Youth Mental Wellness Program and the rising suicide crisis among young people in rural America.

Winton pointed to recent CDC data showing rural youth ages 15 to 19 are 74 percent more likely to die by suicide than their urban peers. The program, an online mental health intervention developed with Northwestern University, was designed with input from rural youth themselves before its nationwide rollout.
