This moderated webinar features a presentation from Joel White, President of the Council for Affordable Health Coverage, and includes a Q&A session.

The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) is one of the most consequential healthcare laws since the Affordable Care Act was signed into law, and the biggest change to Medicare coverage since the creation of Medicare Part D in 2003.

This 55-minute webinar identifies the new Medicare benefits for patients enrolled in Medicare Part D, which provides coverage for prescription drugs, and includes a discussion on:

  • A $2,000 annual out-of-pocket cap.

  • Ability to “spread out” costs across the plan year.

  • $35/month cap on insulin cost-sharing.

  • Expansion of eligibility for low-income subsidies.

Webinar viewers will gain an understanding of how to access these new benefits and the potential unintended consequences of these changes. In particular, Medicare beneficiaries in rural America may experience significant changes to plan premiums, formularies, and access to treatments as a result of the Part D benefit redesign.

View a transcript of the Q&A Session, including answers from Joel White to additional questions submitted by the webinar audience.
