The bipartisan EPIC Act — Ensuring Pathways to Innovative Cures — aims to reduce barriers to incentives for developing drugs people in rural communities can readily access.
The so-called “pill penalty,” part of the Inflation Reduction Act’s goal of making psychotropic and other drugs more affordable, had the unintended consequence of curtailing research and development, according to Don Hannaford, vice president of policy for Rural Minds.
