Rural Minds Partnership Council
Working together to address mental health challenges in rural communities
We acknowledge and thank the following organizations who are members of the Rural Minds Partnership Council:
The Rural Minds Partnership Council brings together leaders of companies and organizations in the biopharma and agricultural industries that are partnering with Rural Minds to support educational initiatives that address the mental health challenges in rural communities across the country.
In keeping with the mission of Rural Minds to serve as the informed voice for mental health in rural America, participation on the Council will provide members with the opportunity to:
Gain insight into mental health challenges unique to those who are living in rural America, which includes diverse population segments. Overall, rates for depression are higher in rural America than in urban areas, (1) and suicide rates among people living in rural areas are 64 to 68 percent higher than those in large urban areas. (2)
Contribute to the discussion on development of Rural Minds mental health educational initiatives that can be relevant for rural residents beyond those who have been diagnosed with a mental illness.
Recognize the management of comorbidities as a cause of anxiety, depression, or mental health challenges; and a factor that can exacerbate an existing mental illness.
Benefit from the exchange of information and collective perspective shared through interaction with Council members from the bio/pharmaceutical and agricultural industries.
Participate in quarterly Council digital update meetings hosted by Rural Minds.
